I am a Knifemaker from rural Lanark county Ontario Canada. I have a workshop next to my house. I spend most of my time making knives, or in the bush looking for great pieces of wood, burls and dead falls to turn into spectacular knife handles.
I have done Craft work all my life, Worked in a custom furniture shop, Studied with Charles Fox at Guitar Research and Design, Built boats; 7 so far, largest 51 feet, I am a Licensed Electrician by trade. In 2000 I started making knives for myself, and folks just kept buying them, I haven't stopped. I am a sculptor by nature, I like making things. Nothing like taking wood and metal and creating something useful, and beautiful. The attraction of knives is the simplicity and purity of form and function; the first tool of man. I am addicted to Web Television that is free, check out my other blog. Web Television =Review
This was one of a series I made and sold. I like doing scrimshaw work. This one is a wolf. This knife had file work and the white handle had been aged to look like old Tusk. SOLD
This was the first knife I ever made. I just started looking at sharks and the shape just kind of developed. I engraved a shark on the white corian handle. and to this day I still like the look of this one. SOLD
I have made I think 4 of these over the years. I like the rifle butt inspired handle alot. I think it gives a nice western look to this knife. So I called it the Cowboy. SOLD
The mountain man forged knife is my favorite knife to make. I do many of them on my wood fired forge. I never use glue on the handles. Just big peened rivets. These are big heavy working knives. Simple, sharp, and beautiful.
